Information Quiet Ko handles
Quiet Ko handles the information needed to create and secure your account, run Go games, connect you with other players, and remember your preferences.
- Account and profile data, including your account email, display name, unique handle, optional bio, country, avatar, and playing experience.
- Game and social data, including invitations, game settings, moves, clocks, scores, ratings, friendships, blocks, reports, and game messages.
- App data, including training progress, notification preferences, device or browser push subscriptions, and locally stored session and preference data.
- Limited product events and error diagnostics only when you turn on Product analytics. Quiet Ko disables automatic interaction capture, session replay, and analytics geolocation, and does not send message text or board records as analytics properties.
What other people can see
By default, your active profile, handle, avatar, and ratings are visible to signed-in, unblocked players, while completed-game history is visible only to its participants. Privacy & safety settings let you make your profile public, share completed-game summaries with signed-in players or the public web, and separately opt in to search-engine indexing. A shared completed game is exposed to an audience only when both participants allow it.
A public game listing shows the information another signed-in player needs to decide whether to join. Active game details and messages are limited to the players, while someone with a valid invitation link can see the invitation preview needed to join. Avatar images use short-lived access links governed by the same profile visibility rules, although a browser or device may briefly retain an image it already loaded. Search engines and other third parties may retain an indexed public page after you change a setting, so removal from their results may not be immediate.
How information is used and shared
Quiet Ko does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Supabase provides account, database, file, realtime, and server-function infrastructure; Vercel hosts the web app; Expo supports native builds and push delivery; Resend delivers transactional email; and PostHog receives the limited analytics described above only after opt-in. Browser and mobile push providers receive the delivery information required for a notification. Each provider processes data on Quiet Ko’s behalf under its own security and retention controls.
- To authenticate accounts, synchronize games, enforce rules and clocks, calculate ratings, deliver notifications, and provide support.
- To prevent abuse, investigate reports, enforce the Community Standards, diagnose failures, and improve product reliability.
- With infrastructure providers that host authentication, databases, files, notifications, transactional email, and optional product analytics on Quiet Ko’s behalf.
- When required to comply with law, protect players or the service, or complete a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
Your controls and retention
You can change profile, history, indexing, analytics, presence, social, and notification choices; edit your profile; block or report players; and permanently delete your account from Settings. Turning analytics off stops new analytics collection from your account. Account deletion removes private account data and anonymizes completed game records so shared game history remains coherent without identifying the deleted player.
Account, preference, social, and training records are kept while your account is active and are removed through the account-deletion process. Turning push off stops Quiet Ko from sending account notifications, but does not by itself unregister a browser or device endpoint. A push subscription may remain registered until sign-out or deletion cleanup succeeds, the provider invalidates it, or you remove it from that browser or device. Active-game data is kept to operate and resolve the game; completed records may remain in anonymized form for game integrity and participant history. Reports, moderation evidence, delivery logs, and security records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to investigate abuse, enforce decisions, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Provider backups and diagnostics roll off according to the applicable provider schedule.
